What is the Process for Applying A Ceramic Coat?
Before a ceramic coat can be applied, a few steps have to take place first. The vehicle is prep cleaned using a gentle shampooing detergent then decontaminated using NanoSkin pads (think clay bar for the 21st century). Once the finish is free of contaminants, the paint correction process starts.
Paint correction is the process of using a powered machine to expertly and safely remove scratches, blemishes and swirls from the vehicle’s finish. Even on new vehicles some paint correction will be required to remove “peaks and valleys” from the clear coat. This creates the smoothest surface possible to ensure a perfect bond between the ceramic and the clear coat.
Once the paint correction process is done, the finish is polished to a mirror like shine to create greater depth and brilliance. After this step the vehicle is washed down with a special solution to remove any polish residue still on the finish. Once those steps are completed the ceramic coat is expertly applied to the finish.
